Adel and her daughter Jessica’s dream of having thier own cupcake shop has come to life with the opening of Cupcake Lane near Vaughan Mills mall in Maple. We were glad to help them build their dream literally with the cute countertop and condiment unit that we designed and built, almost as cute as the cupcakes themselves. They didn’t have much time to get ready for the opening so we had to hustle in order to have everything ready on time. We were able to help them out and the result was a stylish plastic laminate countertop with a stained and lacquered oak base. The main colours in this shop are brown and pink and the shop in itslef has more then enough natural light due to the large windows that line the corner unit. They wanted open shelves along the inside of the unit and we alco built them a back corner unit with a small sink and espresso machine. Today Cupcake Lane is up and running and we wish both Adel and Jessica the best of luck!three divx

Ann Colledge and her husband Tony have a small office on the upper level of their 2 story home in Oakville. They both want to use the office space effectively and simultaiously but due to the size of the room this will be tricky. They asked us to help them come up with a solution and help them build a cozy and functionaly office free of clutter. The initial concept includes a desk that wraps around three corners of the room with some upper floating and supported cabinets. We also had to work around a large window with shutters and an oddly placed light switch. Due to the demand for for extra storage space the desk is lined with drawers which will allow for filing and other storage, the upper cabinets which we are still deciding on will have to be clear of the open shutters and the lightswitch. This traditional yet modern office design is one they will never tire of…. we will keep you posted as to how things unfold.

What do you do with a tiny dining room/kitch in a chich modern condo? What Brent R wanted to do was create a simple and clean seating area that would be comfortable for guests and look great in his space. He is fond of the minimalist look and was keen on haveing white leather upholstry invloved in the seating. Initially we designed a table and banquette for Brent but he decided to purchase an Eams table insteasd. It’s okay we toally get that here at JD McNIcoll, we want to make sure that we can provide whatever you need to go along with what you already have or want to get. The base of the banquette is going to be a mocha stained oak which will go beautiful with his tan oak floors and ebony kitchen cabinets. The wall where the banquette is going is 8′ 4″ wide and the banquette is going form wall to wall creating a little nook. We are starting the production of this project soon and will have the photos up to show you when it’s ready.
This is a special post dedicated to all of you condo livers out there. As we know space is precious in many of todays condos and the need for spacial organizers is in demand. That’s why when we were asked to create a storage and office area in one for Ryan we had to get a few things straight. It’s important to find out exactly what he needed to organize down to a tee. To do this we had Ryan take an inventory of what he had lying around that needed to be put away, we then visited the space to have a look and see what we had to work with.
